Gift certificate — Classic football making workshop
Award winning designer and leather worker, Tom Farrah guides students through every step in this immersive workshop experience culminating in a truly unique and beautiful handmade heirloom.
During this approximately 7 hour workshop participants will learn about old and new leather working techniques and tools, leather terminology, leather selection and proper leather care. Using magnificent full grain leather sourced from a local Victorian tannery, participants will hand cut and assemble their very own Aussie rules, rugby or American football from scratch.
No leather working experience is necessary however participants must be at least 15 years of age. Tea, Coffee and some nibbles are provided however it is advised to bring your own lunch.
During the workshop participants will be guided through:
- leather selection
- pattern use
- hand cutting leather
- football construction methods and linings
- sewing machine operation
- turning the football
- leather care
What to bring:
- Closed toe shoes
- Water bottle
